Engravings
The inside of a ring band is the most traditional place for an engraving. Dates, initials, coordinates, short phrases. At Diamond Ateliers, we can also engrave on the outside of certain band designs, or incorporate text into the design itself as a visible decorative element.
Gallery Details
The gallery is the underside of the ring setting — the part that faces the palm. It's rarely seen, which makes it a perfect place for personal details. A small sapphire, a tiny diamond, an engraved message, a decorative cutout.
Milgrain and Filigree
Milgrain is a row of tiny beaded metal detail along the edge of the band or setting, associated with vintage and Art Deco jewelry. Filigree is delicate openwork metalwork applied to the shank or gallery. Both add texture and a sense of handmade quality to a modern ring design.
